Merry Christmas To Uke!
Despite the weather's best efforts, our Christmas concert went ahead, and what a concert it

was!
On Sunday 10th December, plenty of people braved the snow to enjoy this year's Christmas concert at Allenburys
Sports and Social Club. We started off with some sea songs and had a bit of audience
participation, before moving gracefully into our Christmas section by playing I Saw Three Ships (clever eh?) with a ukulele twist!
After our interval, we had a special guest - Father Christmas! He came to draw the raffle tickets, and we had some great prizes on offer - a £25 Gig Gear voucher (won by our very own John!), a ukulele, and some free sessions with the ukulele group, as well as assorted alcohols and other prizes.

Next up was the Christmas jumper competition, where Pauline won with her flashing Rudolph jumper, her prize being a certificate which declared that she looked like a pillock in front of a hall full of people!
Lloyd was presented with a gift by the group as a thank you for his commitment and dedication to leading the group - another Gig Gear voucher!
Through the ticket sales and donations for extra raffle tickets and cakes, we managed to raise a fantastic £194.33 for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance! A great total, and a great afternoon!
We would like to thank everybody who managed to make it to the concert, Allenburys for the use of the hall, Gig Gear for their donated prize, Herts Copy and Print for the printing of the programmes, and all of the members of the Ware Ukulele Group for putting on a great show!
We only have one more public appearance before Christmas, but keep your eye on our Calendar page for new dates in the new year!
