Welcome to the Ware Ukulele Group!
Well, this year hasn't quite gone as expected has it? But fear not - your friendly neighbourhood ukulele group are bringing you something special for Christmas!
That's right - our first ever virtual concert! This will be available as a video download on 12th December 2020, featuring some special guest slots too! All proceeds will go to the Sickle Cell Society, in memory of our good friend Baz (pictured to the right) who sadly passed away in August 2020.
Keep an eye out for more details soon!
Our good friend and bassist Baz, who passed away in August. Greatly missed by all.
The Ware Ukulele Group was founded in June 2015. Our first rehearsal was in Leaside Church, with about 7 in attendance. 4 years later, the group has around 25 members, and is still growing!
We play all sorts of music, and our repertoire spans around 100 years of music! We have everything from the expected George Formby and Israel Kamakawiwo'ole to Rag N Bone Man and Iron Maiden, as well as favourite singalongs such as Sweet Caroline and Delilah.
We are currently not rehearsing at the Saracen's due to Coronavirus rules, but meet every Monday morning at 11am on Zoom. For more details contact Lloyd on the details below.
If you are interested in joining us, we rehearse every Thursday evening in the Saracen's Head Cellar Bar, Bridgefoot, Ware (see map below)
Rehearsals begin at 6pm, and all ages and abilities are welcome - even if you've never picked up a uke! We begin with a 20 minute session of beginner-level music, before moving onto the main group songs. We have a break about halfway through, and finish at 8pm. Members are welcome to stay for either or both!
